Gently flowing waves have become a comforting friend of Sie's, a constant reminder of the passing and silencing of noise. And so they pair the flow of a brush, water, and paint, a natural push, with the architectural and artificial procedure, creating a harmony of the natural flow of things. Eyes become drawn to the vertical waves and colour melts, giving an impression of calmness and purposeful movement and encouraging the viewer to sit with it for a moment without any contextual distractions.

About the Artist: Sie Douglas-Fish is a professional artist, illustrator and designer from 100 Mile House, British Columbia. They are heavily inspired by the human condition and explore a wide range of styles inspired by emotions and experiences. They also draw inspiration from pop culture, especially cartoons and video games. Sie’s work is notable for semi-realistic, detail-heavy rendering and loose, expressive lines, often featuring popular culture influence, character art and marine life.
